Our Community

At Ivanhoe Primary School, we prioritise developing a strong sense of community by actively involving parents and local businesses in our educational endeavors. Through regular communication channels such as newsletters, parent-teacher meetings, and volunteering opportunities, we encourage parents to actively participate in their child's education, fostering a collaborative partnership between home and school. Furthermore, we actively seek partnerships with local businesses, inviting them to engage with our school community through sponsorships, guest speaker events, and career exploration programs. By involving parents and local businesses in our school activities, we not only enrich the educational experience for our students but also create a network of support that strengthens the bonds within our community, fostering a sense of belonging and shared purpose among all stakeholders.

To find out more ways you can get involved, please see our Parent Involvement page.

Working Bees

Working Bees are a vital part of ensuring the ongoing upkeep and maintenance of the school.  The School Council Facilities sub-committee manages the schedule and roster, and while each working bee is focused on a particular Grade level, everyone is welcome at every working bee! If you can't make it to your Grade level's working bee, just come to the next one :-). If you can't make there is the opportunity to contribute $20 through the school office towards maintenance.

Key Dates

There is a single Working Bee each school term.

August 15th (Years 3 and 4)

November 14th (Years 1 and 2)

Please be advised that if it is not your grades working bee you are still more then welcome to attend the working bee. All help is very much appreciated.

Working bees are  held on a Sunday morning from 9am to 12pm - plenty of notice is given in the school newsletter and the schedule can also be found in the COMPASS and Website Calendars.

Not only do we achieve a lot of work around the school, it is a great opportunity to get to know other school families.

Environmental Sustainability

The Sustainability Committee is a group of parents volunteering with the school to improve our environmental footprint.   The group is actively working towards completing the ResourceSmart Schools accreditation and key ongoing sustainability improvements for the school every year.
